Highlights of the Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law after its revision

Highlights  3. Strengthen penalties for illegal activities: If the demolition of  sewage outlets is set at the drinking water source, the punishment will  be between 100,000 and 500,000. It is expected that the penalty will not  be increased to 500,000 to 1 million. It was closed down for rectification.
      Recently,  the "Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's  Congress on Amending the Law of the People's Republic of China on Water  Pollution Prevention and Control" has been passed. The revised law will come into force on January 1, 2018.
     Highlights  1. This new revision is based on the new revision of China's current  water pollution prevention and protection development ideas, reflecting  the latest results of China's water pollution control top-level design,  the revised water pollution prevention and treatment law for the first  time to write the river long system among them. The  river system is an institutional innovation in the management of rivers  and lakes, as well as China's water environment management system and  institutional innovation to ensure national water security.
      Highlights  2. Implementation of the sewage permit system: The target of sewage  monitoring will be expanded from the original industrial sewage disposal  enterprises to enterprises and institutions and other production  operators that implement the discharge permit management, and it is  proposed to “unify the planning of the national water environmental  quality monitoring station ( Point) setting up monitoring data sharing mechanism"
